5 Reasons that Winter Holidays at Mt Norquay are magical.

 In Norquay Blog

1. Snow tubing at Banff’s closest tubing park

Enjoy the thrill of rocketing down in an inflated tube. Whether you’re experienced on the slopes or have never been skiing, Tubing is a fantastic family and friends activity. Young adventurers at 42” up to the young at heart can try Snow tubing. Norquay’s snow tube park, the first in the Banff area, has a magic carpet and large sliding lanes to go down along with your group of friends or your family. It’s a unique way to enjoy the slopes, and more fun than peanut butter and a dog.

Tubing is also available on night skiing Friday evenings through the holidays.

2. New Beers on Tap and new menu at the World Famous Lone Pine Bar & Restaurant

Sample beers from local brewers like Banff Ave Brewing Co. or Calgary’s Big Rock Brewing.

The Lone Pine also has a brand new menu with great value and interesting twists on the usual ski area fare. Try the new Bao Chinese Steamed Buns or my personal favourite the tangy Jalapeño Shrimp Gorditas. Or enjoy a steaming hot peppermint Hot Chocolate and get cozy by the fireplace. Open until 9 on Friday evenings for night skiing.

Also, take the bus down only 10 minutes in downtown Banff and keep the Aprés going as long as you want.

3. Santa Shreds for Free on Christmas Day

Join the tradition of ripping up the slopes on Christmas day in a full Santa suit (Elf or Mrs.Clause also accepted), and then ski for free all day! The only catch is you have ski in costume all day.

The multitude of Festive Santa’s make for great memories carving it up on all 4 of our lifts during the holidays.

4. The Norquay Quality Time Family Package

Affordable skiing for the whole family with our Family pack for two parents and two kids for only $149 – or upgrade to Tubing and Rentals for $50 each – That’s 4 Ski Lift Tickets (2 adults and 2 children up to 17) with tubing AND rentals for only $249.

Check out the official deals page for all the info and fine print that lawyers added in.

5. Banff’s best winter sightseeing to 7000 feet at the Cliffhouse Bistro

Ride up the North American Chair to Banff’s best viewpoint. Expert Skiers and Riders have known that the scenic 10 minute ride to the top of North American gives you an epic look down on the Bow Valley, Mt Rundle and the Town of Banff.

Winter Sightseeing only tickets are available so no skis or snowboards are required.

Have a great holiday season from the staff here at Mt Norquay, see you on the slopes!
