It’s never too late to learn

Plan your first day at Norquay, you’re in great hands.

At Norquay, we understand that skiing or riding for the first time can be daunting.  Mountain life can take some getting used to. We got you.

Our advice: take your time, and have fun as you ease into it.  We’ve all been there, and we’re here to get you feeling happy and confident on the mountain, however you choose to spend your time here.

We pride ourselves on being one of the very best resorts in the Rockies to earn your stripes on your skis or board – you’ll be on the chair lift and making turns in no time.  Plus, we’re all real friendly here – it’s always been that way at Norquay.

Our approachable instructors are always on-hand to show you the way and get you having fun on-mountain, no matter what your skill level.  Talk to us about what’s best for you – we offer everything from two-hour lessons to multi-week teaching programs.

(Pssst, there’s so much more to do here than ‘just ski’ too…)

If it’s your first time at Norquay, come and see us at Guest Services and ask us everything you need to know about getting the very most out of your day.  We can share our insider tips on what to see and do first, and where to warm-up in between your runs and on-resort adventures.

Getting here is also a breeze.  Just 130 kms West along the TransCanada Highway from the urban hub of Calgary, we’re the closest resort to the townsite of Banff.  With a regular shuttle bus service to the base of the resort from a number of downtown stops, you won’t be wasting any unnecessary travel time before you’re on-mountain and ready for the fun to begin.

When you arrive at the base, our Cascade Lodge is just stepped away from the car park, meaning zero-hassle and no need to carry your gear from miles away.  Snow School, Lockers, Rentals and our Tune Shop are all right there, so everything’s in the one place.  Easy breezy.

Take a spin at our tube park!

Looking for other ways to enjoy the mountain?  Norquay has you covered.  Why not take a tube for a spin on our crowd-pleasing tube park, or strap on a pair of snowshoes and explore one of the trails from the resort?  Or, just cozy up in one of our lodges and sip on a winter warmer (we won’t judge).
